Making sex accessible: Loveabilities virtual sex and disabilities festival

Produced by Singapore-based Eros Coaching, the 2020 Love Abilities festival is taking place online October 15-19.

As the first of its kind, the virtual sexuality and disability festival is designed to “demystify sex and sexuality, provide sexual information, knowledge, resources, and teach sexual skills and communication” for people of all abilities to gain confidence in sexual expression, the company says.

The event comes at a time where the intersection of disability and sex is deservedly gaining more attention, with ventures such as Handi and Witsense coming to the fore.

To ensure this virtual event is accessible, the company plans to live caption and audio transcribe all the recordings.

With around 50 presenters, the festival will host 29 panel discussions and workshops for guests to join. Panels include topics such as sexual aids and accessible sex toys, facilitated sex and intimacy, BDSM, dating with disabilities, and invisible disabilities.

To ensure nobody will be turned away for lack of funds, guests can choose to purchase an All Access Festival Pass for $20, donate a pass to someone else, or apply for a free ticket scholarship.

Once you have a ticket, guests are invited to a private Facebook group to access the private Zoom link for all the live sessions. Alternatively, you can choose to watch a recording for up to 30 days following the live session.
