About LoveJack
LoveJack is a dating app that ditches the endless swiping and photo-first approach in favour of wordplay games. The idea is pretty simple: instead of judging someone by their pics, you match based on how you play with words. Users get daily five-word games to fill out their profiles and connect with potential matches. It’s basically Wordle meets dating, designed for people who fancy itself a bit clever.
The app was created by two female founders who wanted to bring some actual conversation back to online dating – what they call ‘wordplay foreplay.’ Based out of Houston, Texas, LoveJack expanded into the UK in early 2025, and we covered its launch alongside other dating app updates. Julie Lestage took over as CEO in January 2025. If you’re tired of the swipe-right grind and prefer brains over biceps, this one’s worth a look.
