Last updated: 3 June 2026. This page explains how SEXTECHGUIDE makes money, the editorial standards that keep our coverage independent of it, and how we handle affiliate links. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. Set the “Last updated” date to the actual publish date when you push this live.
Our values
Transparency, honesty, and integrity are at the core of what we do. SEXTECHGUIDE has published independent sextech journalism since 2016, backed by a team with more than 15 years of combined publishing experience. We are not willing to risk that reputation for a free product, a trip, or a commission.
We don’t accept sponsored content
We do not accept sponsored content, paid guest posts, or link-insertion requests, and we do not sell placement in our articles, reviews, rankings, or roundups. If you have emailed us asking to “contribute a post,” buy a link, or sponsor an article, the answer is no. Advertising and any promotions we run are clearly marked and kept separate from editorial content.
How our reviews are produced
Our reviews are based on direct, hands-on testing in real-world conditions wherever possible. Where a piece is based on research rather than hands-on use — for example, when we can’t yet get access to a product or service — we say so in the review. Exactly how we score and test is set out in detail on our How We Test page.
No pay-for-coverage, ever
Our editorial staff and freelance contributors do not accept money, gifts, or any other compensation in exchange for reviews, news coverage, rankings, or mentions. No brand can pay for a score, a favourable quote, a placement, a review outcome, or the removal of criticism. Editors do not hold financial positions in the brands they cover, and any material personal relationship with a brand requires disclosure or reassignment. Where a review sample, paid subscription, trial, or other provided access materially affects how a review was produced, we disclose it.
Affiliate links and commissions
SEXTECHGUIDE is reader-supported. Some of our links to retailers are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click through and buy something — at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund independent testing and reporting.
Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial opinions, scores, or the order in which we rank products. Commission rates are never a factor in what we recommend or how we sort options — the editorial verdict comes first, and commerce is simply a way to help you compare and find what we’ve recommended. Affiliate links are marked up so search engines and browsers can identify them as paid links, and affiliate status is disclosed before the first commercial module on review and guide pages.
Travel and events
Occasionally a company may offer to cover travel or accommodation so we can see a product, facility, or event first-hand. Accepting this never comes with any promise of coverage, and it never dictates what we write. Where it happens, we disclose it transparently in the relevant article, and our reporting remains independent.
Originality and the use of AI
Our articles are written by people. We do not use AI tools to generate our articles, reviews, or news coverage, and we operate a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism and fabrication, with proper attribution and source linking. We do use AI-assisted tooling for narrow, supervised tasks — for example, a first pass at analysing a privacy policy — but a human editor always reviews the output, and the tool is never the final source of truth.
Corrections
We fix mistakes openly. Substantive corrections are published on the original article with a dated note explaining what changed. If you spot a factual error, email corrections@sextechguide.com.
Inclusivity and professional standards
We cover sexuality in a sex-positive, inclusive, and respectful way, and we prioritise highlighting underrepresented voices and stories involving BIPOC, women, LGBTQ+, and other marginalised groups. We do not tolerate coarse, vulgar, sexist, or racist treatment of any subject. Sensitive topics are handled with care and editorial review.
