Why?

The 10th edition of the annual Love & Sex With Robots conference is set to take place on August 15-17, 2025 at Université du Québec in Montreal.

The event was founded by David Levy, author of the book Love & Sex With Robots: The Evolution of Human-Robot Relationships. It attracts scientists, academics, sextech industry types, plus some ‘iDollators’: people generally enthusiastic about the prospect of having sex with robots and love dolls.

Organizers are currently fielding abstract submissions, which need to be filed by March 31. There will be lectures, panel talks and workshops at the conference, which is expected to be accessible online in some form as well as in-person.

Suggested topics for abstract submissions include robot emotions, teledildonics, roboethics, humanoid robots and intelligent electronic sex hardware. Sponsors for the 2025 edition include the sextech company Kiiroo.

As was the case for 2024, advancements in AI are expected to be a hot topic at the 10th edition this summer. Information about keynote speakers is set to be announced soon, although as yet no conference speakers have been revealed.

As well as conference founder Levy, the Love & Sex With Robots committee has included Simon Dubé, who has researched sex in space and is a fellow at the Kinsey Institute.

Other committee members have included Bobbi Bidochka, founder of communications and networks systems company Imagine Ideation, plus Emily Jaworski, graduate of the Institute of Future Studies. Rebecca Gibson, teaching assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, has also served on the committee.

Ticket details for the 2025 event are yet to be announced. You can sign up for conference email updates at the Love & Sex With Robots website.
