A new conference covering sex-positivity issues, including a strong focus on sextech, is set to take place in Detroit this October and is currently fielding proposals for talks and workshops.

The Securing Sexuality conference will take place on October 19 and 20, 2023, at Atheneum Suite Hotel in the Michigan state city. The event is sponsored by The Bound Together Foundation: an education and mental health charity focused on people from gender, sexuality and relationship style minorities.

Organizers say the conference will be a place for the “hard and soft sides of sexual science to meet”, and that the event is for “people passionate about promoting sex-positive, science based, and secure interpersonal relationships.” Conference passes cost $300 when bought before June 30, and $350 when bought after this date. One-day passes cost $200. There’s also an option $100 ‘Day Trip’: a guided driving tour of the city, including a visit to a historic leather shop.

Event chiefs said they were hoping to attract sextech designers, website and app developers, sex and relationship therapists, media members and activists, as well as others related to the field of sex-positivity.
