Lovense has released a touch-responsive vibrating butt plug for couples, designed to vibrate harder when the wearer’s partner thrusts harder.

The base of the new Glint butt plug has a touch sensor that reads skin contact and translates it into vibration intensity. The idea is that during penetrative sex from behind, whether with a penis or a strap-on, each harder thrust presses more of the partner’s skin against the base, and the plug responds by vibrating harder.

According to a Lovense representative, the sensor reads the angle, speed and coverage of that contact and adjusts the vibration across five levels. Lovense CEO Dan Liu said the company had been thinking for years about what a toy for couples to use during sex should look like, and added: “We hope to change couples’ view of toys during sex, and even their habits.”

Using a butt plug during sex like this might sound a little unwieldy, which is perhaps why Lovense has designed the Glint to be relatively compact. The insertable section has a width of 21.5 millimeters, the same as Lovense’s beginner-focused Lush Anal plug, and the device weighs 55 grams. It’s made from body-safe silicone, and Lovense recommends pairing it with a water-based lube.

The sensor on the base of the Glint can also be used to trigger vibrations in another Lovense sextech device, when connected through the Lovense Remote app. For example, you could be thrusting away inside your partner while your skin pressing on the base of the Glint they’re wearing triggers vibrations in another sex toy that you have pushed up your backside (perhaps wait until the third date for that setup).

The Glint has three response modes, offering varying sensations based on skin contact with the device’s base. Pulse fires up to three rhythmic pulses when the base is touched and held, Sustain vibrates continuously while there’s skin contact, and Crescendo starts with a steady low vibration that builds with contact, then resets. Touch sensitivity is adjusted in the app.

Lovense claims up to 7,500 vibrations per minute and up to 178 minutes between charges (an oddly precise figure, and one Lovense’s own FAQ says can drop to 95 minutes depending on the vibration level). It’s IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be used in the bath for short periods, though Lovense warns the Bluetooth connection may not be stable under water.

Lovense lists the Glint at £199 but is selling it for £89 (the same page shows its Lush Anal and Hush 2 plugs at roughly half their list prices too). Lovense says that early-bird price ends Oct 26.

The Remote app can also show how you interacted with the Glint over a session, a feature Lovense says is off by default, with the data encrypted. That’s worth weighing before switching it on, given that a security researcher reported in 2025 that flaws in Lovense’s app could expose users’ email addresses and let accounts be taken over, flaws the researcher said were fixed that July.

Lovense has pinged out a lot of new syncing sex toys recently. SEXTECHGUIDE’s Lush 4 review found a bulb-shaped vibrator with real rumble but little reason for Lush 3 owners to upgrade, while other launches include the Gush 2 Motion penis stroker, whose motion sensor drives a partner’s toy in much the same way, and the Fizz dual-head clitoris vibrator.
