SexLikeReal’s (SLR) first haptic penis stroker device is set to be shipped in the last quarter of 2026, and the VR porn company has opened up an email waitlist for pre-release information, which still lists the device as arriving in August 2025.
The long-awaited device is called the Melody, and comes after SLR said it “trashed” its original stroker design in 2023 and started again. The new device has been designed to sync with SLR VR porn content, but the company promised that it “matches every scene on your screen from 2D to VR”.
It’s now been revealed that the Melody will come with AI that learns your stroking rhythm and can respond to it, and that the device’s interactive control can be driven through VR or AI-synced scripts.
In this context scripts are data files such as Funscripts, time-coded to sync with a particular video, that direct the movement of a sex toy frame-by-frame. Script files like these can offer more accurate and closely-synced movement than sync methods designed to be generally triggered by on-screen action, because they are tailor-made for each video.
SLR’s penis stroker will also be able to connect to the Haptics Connect app, to allow its movements to be remotely synced to a partner’s sex toy. The app will allow fine-tuning of the Melody’s settings for solo use.
The company has also revealed that the Melody will have a color text screen on its body, to relay text messages and data information such as intensity levels. New renders of the Melody show that it has its sleeve section on the outside of the main motor section, similar to the recently-launched Handy 2 penis stroker (SEXTECHGUIDE recently reviewed the Handy 2 Pro).
SLR said that the Melody will be able to be used hands-free, and will be able to be attached to a mount. The company added that it will weigh less than one kilogram, and will have a 12 centimeter stroke range.
The Melody can deliver up to 150 full strokes per minute, and VR porn video syncing can be enabled by pressing one button on the device.
Price details for the Melody have not been announced, but an SLR manager previously told SEXTECHGUIDE that the Melody would probably sit somewhere between the Handy 2 and Handy 2 Pro in terms of market placement, putting it in the region of $200.
The company also said that penis sleeves from other companies such as Handy, Fleshlight and Kiiroo will be compatible with the Melody. The device has an open API, meaning that it will be used for other interactive experiences such as live camming and other video content, plus content from many other open server programmers.
In October 2025 an SLR manager told SEXTECHGUIDE, as covered in our report on the delayed spring 2026 release: “It has completely different technology of transmitting power from the motor to the actual sleeve. When it comes to range, whether it’s big or small, you can see that other devices [aren’t] able to do it smoothly. They’re doing a jerking movement. Our device is capable of doing it really smoothly.” Given that the 2026 release window has already slipped once, we’ll have to wait and see if it really does arrive in Q4 2026.
The company said an initial run of 1,000 Melody units would be created, then probably a further batch of 3,000.
Many VR porn users sync videos to penis stroker devices, and SLR has published guides to using strokers such as those made by Handy and Kiiroo for the platform.
An SLR-made stroker is a shrewd business move regardless of whether the device itself delivers, since the company can promote it directly to its subscription base and lean on forum feedback instead of paying for third-party marketing.
