It’s a Christmas tradition for Pornhub to spend almost as much effort on its huge annual data drop as it does on lobbying tech firms about device-level age verification. Or, perhaps, trying to clean up its latest alleged data hack.
The biggest porn site in the world just released its latest [SFW] Year In Review round-up, and it contains some interesting tidbits about the year in porn content.
United States of Porn
The data suggests that the US is still Pornhub’s biggest territory for traffic by far, despite parent company Aylo blocking access to the site in around half of US states, over age verification laws. Overall traffic data has not been released, but Pornhub’s graph suggests that the traffic count for Mexico, the country second in the list, is far lower than the US count.

Many users will of course be using VPNs to access Pornhub and circumnavigate state age verification rules, so may have their traffic logged for another region. But recent data from Semrush suggested that overall US traffic for the site has dropped by around one quarter, year on year, to around 640 million hits per month. That’s still just about enough for Pornhub to keep its crown as the US’ biggest porn site, though.
Age verification rules in other countries have, however, affected traffic chart position. The UK was Pornhub’s eighth biggest country for user traffic in 2025, down three places from 2024. Aylo recently claimed that Pornhub traffic nosedived in the UK by around three quarters, after tougher age verification rules were implemented in July.
France, which in 2024 was Pornhub’s second biggest country for user traffic, is down to sixth place in the table. Pornhub remains officially blocked in France, again due to Aylo claiming that new age verification rules in the country are unworkable, unlike the UK’s, which Aylo complies with.
Pornhub took the chance to have another swipe at French authorities, saying in the new report: “The French government is focused on futile and entirely symbolic regulatory actions which are unenforceable”.
A Rush of Blood to the…
The Pornhub 2025 Year In Review roundup does contain insights arguably more fun than age verification effects, most notably related to Coldplay.
The British band, once described as “bedwetters” by the record label boss who signed Oasis, had one of 2025’s most viral moments when during a gig their ‘kiss cam’ trained on a CEO and his work colleague in the midst of an affair.
Searches for “office affair” on Pornhub increased by 210 percent in 2025, and searches for “CEO” rose by 388 percent. Phrases like “caught cheating” and “sneaky cheating” were also drastically up.
It’s not like people were expecting to find footage on the site of the Coldplay couple banging, but Pornhub said: “As one of 2025’s viral moments with sex at the heart of the scandal, people naturally flocked to Pornhub to search out their own fantasies or reflections of society around them.”
Laurie Betito, a therapist and broadcaster who contributed comments to the Pornhub data report, said: “What trends in our culture tends to take on a sexual interest. For this year, it was the Coldplay concert scandal. Power dynamics also come into play here, where boss/employee relationships are eroticized.”
Betito added: “These fantasies are powerful because of the risky and taboo nature of these types of relationships and thus, they provide an outlet for forbidden in real-life experiences.”
Best of British
The top search terms on Pornhub in 2025 were “hentai”, “MILF”, “pinay” (meaning Filipino), “lesbian” and “anal”, which was pretty much the case at the sharp end of the run-down in 2024.
It was perhaps notable, though, that both Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips, British porn creators who have made fortunes largely through creator platforms and subscription content, made it into the top ten most-searched-for porn stars chart (Blue fourth, Phillips sixth).
Primarily operating outside of the porn studio system, creators like Blue and Phillips focus their energies on selling content directly rather than uploading reams of content onto tube sites. But some are so hugely popular, they’re still going to be in the mix for the latter.
The TikTok Generation
Those of us who are worried that the younger generations are having their attention spans fried by technology probably won’t find solace in Pornhub’s report.
The site found that the average user engagement time, aka time spent on a Pornhub session, was nine minutes and 33 seconds (down by just seven seconds from 2024). Users in the 18-24 age group had an average engagement time 26 seconds shorter than that average, while those in the 65 and above age group had an average watch time of two minutes longer than the overall average.
Should we blame TikTok? Perhaps, as in 2025 Pornhub pushed vertical porn videos more than ever, with the video style more popular with younger users.
The big screen returns (a little)
It’s no surprise that the vast majority of Pornhub traffic, 87 percent, came from phone use in 2025.
That percentage is, however, down by 3.5 percent from 2024. Desktop users were up by 39 percent from last year, but still only covered 11 percent of all traffic to Pornhub. Traffic from tablets increased by 31 percent, but only made up two percent of all traffic.
Why is the percentage of phone users down a little? Pornhub suggested that this could partly be due to tougher age verification rules causing traffic shifts. Or maybe more people just want to see tits and dicks etc on far bigger screens.
