Lovense has launched an in-app AI companion “digital lover” feature, that allows you to develop relationships with chatbot characters that can control the movements of your Lovense sex toys.
The new Lovense AI Companion function is available within the Lovense Remote app, and the company said that a web portal version will be launched later in 2025. The idea is that you develop a bond with the chatbot via text chat within the app, then give the AI character control of your app-connected Lovense sex toy.
Lovense bills the function as a “digital partner designed to create exclusive one-on-one emotional and sensual connection”. The chatbot character’s AI learns about the user’s communication style and personality through the text chats, and can create AI-generated visuals to send them as the ‘relationship’ develops.

By syncing Lovense devices to the app the chatbot is contained in, you can hand control of the sex toy to the chatbot character. The company says that the chatbot takes cues from the chats about mood and tone, and controls the sex toy in an appropriate way based on these factors.
“As your relationship grows, the AI unlocks deeper levels of intimacy – taking full command of the toy to surprise you with spontaneous rhythms and sensations that feel uncannily personal,” Lovense says.
The AI chatbot has a continuous memory that can be synced with various devices, maintaining consistency if you switch between sex toys.
Lovense’s recent success has largely been built on its focus on the remote capabilities of its app-connected sex toys. They can be controlled remotely by a partner, and many users enjoy giving control to remote partners they’ve not met before, after connecting with them online.

Developing an AI ‘partner’ character feature to give sex toy control to is an interesting development, but comes at a time when there’s much coverage around the controversies of human relationships with romantic AI chatbots.
Recently an AI companion chatbot bill was proposed in California, that if passed will require companies to introduce anti-addiction measures, such as chatbots regularly telling users that they are not human.
