Rizz is best known for RizzGPT, the AI-powered smart glasses that give you real-time conversation suggestions on dates. The concept went viral in early 2023 when creators built a demo using OpenAI’s ChatGPT API paired with modified smart glasses – essentially giving you an AI wingman whispering pick-up lines and conversation starters directly into your ear while you’re talking to someone. The tech captures what the other person is saying, feeds it to ChatGPT, and then suggests responses through bone-conduction audio. While Rizz started as more of a proof-of-concept project that captured the internet’s attention (and sparked plenty of debate about authenticity in dating), it tapped into a broader trend of AI assistance in romantic and social contexts. The term “rizz” itself – slang for charisma or charm – became Oxford’s Word of the Year in 2023, and even Tinder jumped on the bandwagon with AI-assisted conversation features. Whether this kind of tech actually helps people connect or just creates awkward cyborg conversations is still up for debate, but it’s definitely part of the growing intersection between AI, dating assistance, and technology-mediated intimacy.
