An Atlanta sex-positive conference taking place in September 2025 is set to feature a panel talk about how the sextech industry can have a “more liberatory and ethical future”.
The 11th annual Sex Down South (SDS) conference will take place at Atlanta’s Courtland Grand Hotel on September 4-6. The theme of the conference is spiritual awakening, with art installations, panel talks, film screenings and “healing spaces” set to feature.
The event will feature a panel talk called Liberation by Design: Building the SexTech We Want, organized by the SexTech n’ Chill brand. Organizers said that it will be a town hall-style conversation about ethics in the sextech industry, covering legislation, online platform censorship and algorithms, plus venture capital issues.

Sherri and Reuben Johnson, who founded SexTech n’ Chill, will be hosting the discussion. SexTech n’ Chill was formed in 2022 as part of the Fly Media Productions brand agency, which has worked with porn and sextech companies such as [NSFW] Make Love Not Porn and VDOM, which makes app-controlled prosthetic genitals.
VDOM will have a prominent presence on the panel, with the brand’s founder and CEO Glenise Kinard-Moore set to feature on it, alongside with VDOM chief marketing officer 2AM Ricky.
Brian Dwayne, founder of the black-focused porn and erotica platform [NSFW] BlkTouch, and Raven V Faber, founder of CBD-linked sextech company EngErotics, will also be on the panel. Candice Nicole Hargons, a professor at Emory University, completes the panel line-up.
The SDS conference focuses on people of color and people from indigenous backgrounds, as well as LGBTQIA+ communities.
“By honoring both lived experience and expert knowledge, we cultivate a platform where education, activism, and art converge – nurturing a more inclusive, affirming, and liberated world,” the organizers said.
Standard prices for advance tickets to the conference begin at just under $500. However, it seems that the standard ticket price might be designed to get people to subscribe to a SDS membership, as members get significant (up to 100% free) discounts. They’re available from the conference’s website.
