A vibrating sequel product to the Balldo sex toy, billed as “the world’s first ball-dildo”, is set to be released following an online fundraising campaign on Indiegogo.

The tagline for the Viballdo reads: “The world’s first vibrating ball-dildo – penetrate and stimulate your partner with your balls!”

To use the device you place your testicles and scrotum into a hard, bullet-style ‘cage’ container, that leaves much of the scrotum skin exposed. You then use your balls, encased in this container, to penetrate your partner.

Nadgerz, the squally-cunningly named company behind the products, said the design was based on the concept that nerve endings are particularly prevalent on the skin of the scrotum, so the area may be particularly good for penetrative stimulation. Phrases like ‘ballsex’ and ‘ballgasm’ were banded around the company’s marketing material for the Balldo, which launched in December 2021.

The new Viballdo works similarly to the original, but with added vibes. The vibrating motor in its tip that can deliver 10 different vibration settings. Nadgerz says that as well as delivering vibrations at the tip of the Viballdo, it gives them to the ‘leg’ areas of the device surrounding the scrotum, supposedly pleasuring the scrotal raphe.

The Viballdo is five inches long, two inches in diameter, and is made from stretchier silicone compared to the original Balldo. It is being sold for $59 and is expected to ship out to people who back the crowdfunding campaign from June 2023.

By March 22, Viballdo had surpassed its funding goal of $10,000 (almost $14,000 at the time of publication) on the fundraising platform Indiegogo. Many investors don’t seem to have been put off by the negative write-ups that followed the original Balldo’s release.

In December 2021, the month the original device was released, Vice reporter Simon Doherty wrote a review of the Balldo after using it to penetrate his partner. He said that using it caused his partner to bleed.

Doherty wrote: “The main problem is that trying to fuck someone with your balls is like simultaneously attempting to push two bowling balls back through the machine that delivers them to the players.”

Eric Ravenscraft, writing for Wired, was similarly unimpressed with the Balldo.

“Perhaps the Balldo is best interpreted as performance art about sex itself – the $80 overturned urinal of the erotic toy world,” he wrote.

We’ve contacted the company to see what, if any, changes were made to the design of the Viballdo based on that less glowing feedback and will update here if we receive a substantive response.

03/04/2023 – Update

A spokesperson for Viballdo told SEXTECHGUIDE that the company was “aware of some of the early reports of ‘pain’ when using the first release of Balldo. This was because the ‘shore’ (softness/stretchiness) of the silicone our factory made it in was not the same as the shore we specified… the first 10,000 Balldos in circulation were VERY hard to get on and off.”

They added: “Obviously we have now changed this and all new Balldo and the Viballdo are made of a softer, more stretchy silicone blend that makes it easy to put on and take off. So we have resolved this but we still unfortunately have the reputational damage.”
