Ever wondered what a kink cage would look like near the fireplace?

Well, wonder no more, because an augmented reality company has made an app for that.

Austrlian-based AR firm Third Aurora has launched the EverySingle Sex Toy app, which helps the user to visualise bondage kit such as cages, chairs, whips and chains in your house.

The whole idea behind it is similar to Ikea’s and Amazon’s AR View app, which lets shoppers preview household appliances – such as a kettles or cushions – on the kitchen counter or sofa respectively (or wherever you want, to be fair).

For those toying with the idea of building a BDSM dungeon in their apartment, the app allows anyone with a smartphone to select a BDSM furniture project, place it within the four walls of their house and see if it matches the curtains before dropping loads of money on it.

Third Aurora co-founder Dave Chaffey says in a press release: “If you’re a coy couple looking to purchase bondage equipment, where do you start? You can look online but photographs don’t give you the true picture. You really need to view it in a three-dimensional setting you know well, to see if it’s going to match the bed suite.”

You can try out the app – currently in prototype mode – via the iOS or Android download links.

“This will be a new platform for commerce, particularly when the size of the item and it’s exact position matters,” Chaffey continues. “We believe that smartphone augmented reality will play a part in two to four percent of sales, across all industries, within five years. Its currently an untapped field.”
