Luke Miller, creator of ‘My Ex-boyfriend the Space Tyrant‘ back in 2013, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new game, called ‘Escape from Pleasure Planet’.
As with his previous game, it’s a humor-driven sci-fi point and click adventure game, and it picks up the star of the first game, captain Tycho Minogue in pursuit of a “dangerously handsome” criminal called Brutus.
The trail leads to Arcadia, a tourist resort famous throughout the galaxy as the Pleasure Planet.
But has Brutus gone to the resort solely to hide or is he planning something more sinister? Are the tourists truly happy having their every wish fulfilled or is there a dark underside to this paradise? And what has happened to the original builders of Pleasure Planet?
The project is looking to raise around $3,750 ($5,000 AUD) and is nearly half way there after just two days. Backers pledging $47 (AUD) get early access to playable versions of the game as it develops, and if you cough up $536 (AUD) or more, you can be a character drawn into the game.
Since Space Tyrant’s original launch in 2013, more LGBT content has been made available via Steam, but it’s still very much a niche market in a sea of mainstream games.
The campaign is running until July 29, and you can vote for the game on Steam Greenlight.
