The beta version of the adult-friendly social media platform PleazeMe launched in the US and Canada this week, hoping to elevate the conversation around sex and sexuality, against a backdrop of mainstream social media platforms incessantly censoring any hint of adult content.
When beta users join the site they will be subscribed to premium channels. For adult content creators searching for a space to showcase their work, PleazeMe promises an engaged audience with the potential to drive conversions for their sexually-oriented content.
While currently restricted to the US, PleazeMe told SEXTECHGUIDE that there are plans for expansion in the future.
“We are working on ensuring GDPR compliance and age verification. We will likely open up to the EU by the end of 2019,” PleazeMe’s founder Heather Montgomery told us in a statement.
The platform aims to deliver a societal vision of healthy sexuality with a quiz to help you discover which of the seven “sexual worlds” you fit into. From here you can also meet like minded individuals to form your own sex-positive community, or that’s the theory right now at a fledgling stage anyway.
In the wake of FOSTA/SESTA regulations, and a broader clamp down on adult content on mainstream social media channels, adult performers and retailers that find themselves locked out of Instagram, Facebook, and Tumblr may find some solace in PleazeMe.
