Satisfyer has hooked up with Berlinable, a platform that provides guided written and audio erotica, to enable owners of Satisfyer toys to set them to automatically respond to the on-page action, in much the same way that interactive porn viewing experiences work.
Remotyca, the project name resulting from the collaboration, started with a call for erotic short stories back in March of this year. That garnered over 150 submissions, which have been whittled down to the 82 stories that form part of Remotyca’s launch.
The current author breakdown is 54 female, 26 male, and two non-binary, and content ranges from the straight vanilla to BDSM and beyond, Berlinable says.
If you don’t currently have a Satisfyer toy, the Remotyca stories can still be read or listened to as eBooks and audio books from the Berlinable platform.
However, if you want to use the interactive toys option, you’ll need to listen to each of the recordings as audio stories via the Satisfyer Connect app. Each of the stories also have their own custom-designed cover art.
Whether or not Remotyca will end up being a new category of porn, as the companies hope, is a more difficult challenge for the project, but it might have helped a bit if the category name was a bit easier to say.
While Satisfyer has long been a reliable name in the world of sex toys, its only more recently that the company is starting to explore the higher-tech options, that include things like long-distance remote control, or in this instance syncing with interactive audio stories.
Rival companies, such as Lovense, are some way ahead in this area. In the past year, for example, Lovense has gone on a real tear, adding compatibility to games like 3DXChat, partnering with Bongacams to allow multi-way viewer sync in group shows, running a 24-hour Twitter orgy, and launching a steady stream of new devices, such as the dual-stim Quake, Diamo ring, Lush 3 and Edge 2 prostate massager.
