If you came here for a Roku channel code, the honest answer is that it will not work, and it hasn’t worked since March 2022. Roku spent years quietly tolerating adult “private channels,” the unlisted ones you added with a passcode, then it slammed the door on all of them. The codes still floating around forums and old listicles are digital ghosts. Nobody at Roku is going to bring them back. You could try asking them, but I suspect that won’t make much of a difference.
That doesn’t make a Roku useless for adult content. It means the route changed. You stopped installing a channel and started sending video to the screen from a device you already own. Below is the current, working version of that, an honest note on when a Roku is simply the wrong tool, and what happened to every studio that used to live behind a code.
What happened to Roku’s porn channels?

Roku never marketed itself as an adult platform, but for years its private-channel system left a side door open. You loaded an unlisted channel with a code, and a whole catalog of studios used that to reach living-room TVs. On March 1, 2022, Roku closed it, a move we flagged at the time. The official language was imprecise, leaving unlisted “non-certified” channels capped at a tiny number of users and relabeled “beta” channels, which is a tidy way to kill something without publishing a press release that says “we are banning porn.” Adult Time had only just added its full 250+ channel lineup to Roku before the private-channel system that made it possible was shut down.
Pornhub, Wicked, Naughty America and the rest lost their Roku channels, and the passcodes stopped resolving to anything. Roku’s store still bars explicit content from being listed publicly, so there’s no official replacement and no sanctioned workaround. What is left is the gap between what Roku supports and what your other devices can still throw at the screen.
So what do you suggest I do?
Cast or mirror from your phone, tablet or laptop. This is the reliable option. Open the site or app on a device you control, start the video, and mirror that device’s screen to the Roku.
- Android and Windows: Roku supports screen mirroring. On Android it’s usually under a “Cast,” “Smart View,” or “Screen mirroring” setting. On Windows, press Windows + K and pick your Roku.
- iPhone, iPad and Mac: most current Roku models support AirPlay. Start the video, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, choose the Roku.
- If the Roku does not show up, enable it under Settings, System, Screen mirroring, then approve the connection the first time.
Mirroring sends whatever is on your screen, so a browser tab playing a site’s web player reaches the TV exactly the way a native app would have. The trade-off is that your phone or laptop is now tied up streaming, and notifications will appear on the big screen, so silence those first.
Use the site’s own web player. Most adult platforms dropped native apps long ago and run fine in a mobile or desktop browser. That is the practical heart of casting: you’re not missing an app, you’re using the website and pushing the tab to the TV. Anything with a “cast” button in its own player is doing the same job, usually more cleanly than full-screen mirroring in our testing.
Know what is actually in the Roku store. Thin pickings, at best. A few tame “mature” or “sexy movies” apps clear Roku’s content bar and sit in the official store, and they are softcore at most. If your idea of adult content is a late-night cable movie, you have options. If it is anything explicit, the store does not carry it, and any listing promising otherwise is mislabeled or about to be pulled.
The honest take: a Roku is not the right device for this
Worth saying plainly, because most guides will not. Roku built its entire platform on a closed, certified store. That’s great for stability and bad for anything the store refuses to carry. If watching adult content on your TV is something you genuinely care about, you’re fighting the device’s design every single time you mirror a screen.
The devices built the other way are Amazon’s Fire TV and Android TV boxes, both of which let you sideload apps that were never in an official store. That is a different experience from babysitting a mirrored phone, because the content lives on the TV device itself. If you are choosing hardware with this use in mind, that is the split that matters. We go deeper on both: how to watch adult content on Fire TV and adult content on Google TV and Android TV. If you’d rather not buy anything new, casting from Chromecast covers the same send-it-to-the-screen approach with fewer hoops than Roku’s mirroring.
The platforms that used to have Roku channels
Every studio below ran a Roku private channel before the 2022 cull. The channels are gone and the codes are dead, but the porn sites behind them are very much alive and kicking. Each one runs in a browser, which means it reaches any TV you can cast or mirror to, and most have native apps on the more open devices above.
One note on pricing, because it is where these guides usually miss out: adult subscriptions are relentlessly promo-driven, and the “price” changes depending on the day, the region, and whichever coupon you arrived through. Rather than print a number that is wrong by next week, each link below goes to the platform so you can see the current rate yourself. Pornhub is the only genuinely free forever option here.

Common questions
Can you still watch porn on a Roku? Yes, but not with a channel or a code. You cast or mirror it from another device. The Roku is the screen, not the source of the content.
Do the old Roku porn codes still work? No. They stopped resolving when Roku capped unlisted channels in March 2022. Any list still presenting them as live is out of date.
Will Roku bring adult channels back? Nothing suggests it. The store has barred explicit content the whole time, and the 2022 change turned the private-channel route into a dead end rather than a loophole.
What is the best device for adult content on a TV? One that lets you install apps outside an official store. Fire TV and Android TV boxes both do. Roku, by design, does not.
Is screen mirroring allowed? Mirroring your own screen is a normal Roku feature, not a workaround in any meaningful sense. What you are not doing is installing an unsupported channel, which is the thing Roku actually shut down.
The codes are a relic, the platforms are fine, and a Roku is a perfectly good screen as long as you stop asking it to be the source of your content. For everything else, Fire TV and Android TV are where the actual flexibility lives. If you’re building a setup from scratch, the device is the real decision, and a Roku is the one that fights you. For the casting approach without Roku’s friction, our Chromecast guide covers the same send-it-to-the-screen method with fewer hoops.
