Sex toy shops in Germany are among some of the first in the world to offer in-store VR viewing booths to customers, which cost around €1 per minute to use.
The booths, provided by VR-P (Virtual Real Pleasure, not to be confused with Virtual Real Porn) cost more than $10,000 to have installed, and come in three sizes as standard. The VR porn content is being provided through a partnership with BaDoinkVR, which also includes the VRCosplayX and 18VR brands.

Inside, customers get a ‘high-end’ VR headset (HTC Vive/Vive Pro) to use and customized VR-P viewing software, which delivers a steady 60fps viewing experience.
There’s also a leatherette armchair with simple one-button headset control built-in. Other standard features include an easy-clean floor, air conditioning and LED lighting.
For shops that want to splurge on the optional extras, there’s a tissue paper holder, black light (for checking hygiene), a ‘voyeur display’ for outdoor use, and a ‘synchrosexmonitor’ for indoor use.

A spokesperson for the company told SEXTECHGUIDE that the synchrosexmonitor essentially turns the single-person booth into an experience for two people. So, one person could be watching VR, while the other person is acting out the on-screen action that’s taking place, for example.

The fee can be set by each individual shop owner, but works out around €1 per minute on average, a spokesperson said.
Alongside the straight content, shop owners can also get access to trans and gay VR scenes – though not via BaDoink-owned brands, as it doesn’t operate in those niches.
VR-P claims to be the world’s first to offer VR porn viewing booths, but we’ve already seen examples in South Korea and Japan.
You can see a location of the 14 stores that already have booths installed in Germany on VR-P’s homepage. New installations are also planned in Basel and Zurich in the near future.
