CamSoda Camoji app allows anyone to become an anonymous performer (but you probably won’t)

NSFW cam site CamSoda has launched what it’s calling a ‘Camoji app’ that lets cam models, and anyone else for that matter, create their own digitally animated avatar. These can then be used to ‘perform’ on CamSoda for ‘tips’ in the form of tokens, which can then be exchanged for cash.

Given that animated pornography is on the rise, including “hentai” and video game porn (namely Fortnite) ranking in the top search terms on Pornhub in 2018, along with the growing popularity of Memoji, it comes as no surprise that CamSoda wanted to jump on the animation train. Plus, it’s a handy publicity stunt, which is an opportunity the company never shies away from.

Not to be mistaken for the original Camoji App (that let users create their own gifs back in 2015), CamSoda’s VP Daryn Parker explains that CamSoda’s avatar setup allows twerking and masturbation for a viewer’s pleasure.

Performers can customize everything from their avatar’s hair types, to breast and butt size, and the app is said to eventually include face tracking and motion capture technologies to actually mimic the person performing the acts behind the screen. It doesn’t offer that now though.

“So whether you’re a mother of three, who can’t afford to have your kids’ friends’ parents find out, or a C-level executive at a well-known company with clients, Camoji now allows you to moonlight as a cam model and anonymously interact with fans, all while earning money.”

Daryn Parker, CamSoda Vice President.

While the app is said to offer complete anonymity to the performers behind the masturbating avatars, there’s just one to check out on the platform currently. If other CamSoda initiatives are anything to go by, it’s entirely possible that this will end up another ‘fun-sounding’ initiative that no-one really uses.
