How can xHamster be confident that the new face of the brand will be worth the investment? Well, ‘she’ was made using survey responses from 50,000 of the site’s users, and isn’t human. That’s how.
Following on from the introduction of YouPorn’s Jedy Vales, xHamster has jumped on the trend of brands using digital influencers, which can help a site engage more directly with its audience, plus bring the added cost-saving effect of creating AI-powered content in-house.
The result, Shy Yume, is a “25-year-old, Eurasian, bisexual woman” who will interact with users on Instagram and other social media platforms. And most importantly, as she’s not real, isn’t likely to be banned or have the account mysteriously deleted.
Creating the ‘dreamgirl’
Survey results were gathered in more than 150 countries, where respondents were asked questions about the specific physical characteristics of their ‘dreamgirl’.
Hair color, hair length, eye color, breast size, body hair and body type were all chosen by the survey’s participants, resulting in the 5ft 5″ model with an average-sized waist, dark hair and blue eyes.
“For most, eye color didn’t matter so much. We’d like to think that it’s because it’s what’s inside that counts, but let’s be frank: this is a porn site,” xHamster said.
‘Technology working with humans’
YouPorn is another site that has recently launched its first CGI model, debuting Jedy Vales on Instagram in May (she’s already clocked up an impressive 21,000 followers).
“As a leader in the adult entertainment industry, we’ve struggled to find a proper way to interact and share with our users through means like Twitter and Instagram, where we get shadow banned or our accounts are deleted,” YouPorn chairman Charlie Hughes, told the Evening Standard.
“Jedy is also seen as an important early step in the next phase of technology working with humans, instead of working to replace humans and human sexuality,” Hughes added.
