We may earn a commission via links. Why?

In the US, June is National Pet Month and to celebrate that fact, RedTube is giving away some of its revenue to charity with a ‘Thank Dogs for Doggy Style’ charity campaign.

For each thousand streams, the site will be giving away $0.01, which with the average cost of dog ownership being around $180 per month (excluding the dog itself or any of the things you need to buy) means you’ll need to watch around 18 million clips on the site to keep one dog alive for a month.

The proceeds will go to non-profit Dallas Pets Alive, an organization that aims to educate people and provide resources to eliminate the killing of pets.

No doubt the cash will be gratefully received, and do a lot of good – though you’ve got to wonder how much the company earns from ads on those 18 million page views.

Either way, that’s a lot of views to get through. You better get to it.
