VirtualTaboo is one of the newer sites to come to our attention, and focuses most of its efforts on scenes that involve both lesser-known (but still stunning) and incredibly popular performers, which is why we found the time to slot in a VirtualTaboo review before too much more of 2018 slipped by.
What it offers is a really good selection of performers and some reliably enjoyable VR porn scenes, which is pretty much the core of what anyone could want.
There’s no non-VR porn on offer as part of a unified subscription, but if you’re only interested in finding the best VR porn that’s not going to be a problem for you. Even so, is there enough to tempt anyone considering one of our top two rated sites BaDoinkVR and VirtualRealPorn?
As always, we’ve got a summary of the review in the next section below, and a quick comparison with some of the alternatives at the end.

VirtualTaboo Review: Quick Rating
5K VR for Oculus & Vive Users
VirtualTaboo got the jump on what is now a busy market with its launch back at the start of 2016, and has since grown a reputation for high-quality ‘taboo’ (think stepmom/sister/latex/cheating etc.) themed scenes with beautiful performers. It’s not the most varied site in terms of scenes, but there is some variety in the field of view. It’d score higher if it had teledildonic support and some better navigation options. One we’ll revisit in the future, for sure.
- Ease of Use
- Catalog Size
- VR Quality

- Stream & Download
- Great Selection of Lesser-known Performers

VIRTUALTABOO REVIEW: DESIGN AND CONTENT
VirtualTaboo goes to some effort not to appear like a regular ‘tube’ site, so that means all the image previews are full-screen and well optimized for viewing on a mobile – that’s a bonus for 90% of users, while anyone accessing the site via a desktop/laptop will find it a little lighter on navigation features and filters than some of the rivals.
In terms of content, there are around356+ videos currently featuring 172 or so performers; that means there are quite a few scenes that involve the same (most popular) performers, which is never really a bad thing.
There’s no best viewed indicator, or indeed any filter option at all, but you can navigate your way around the site via tags, which, as the site name implies tend towards the more ‘taboo’ options, as shown below.
I found, to some surprise, that there’s a mix of POV and voyeur/third-person angles in the catalog of scenes. It was ‘to some surprise’ as there’s no indication on the site of videos that aren’t point-of-view. It wasn’t a problem, but for anyone looking for voyeur angle scenes specifically, they could be better signposted.
There is a decent mix of M-F/M-F-F/M-M-F scenes though, which is often lacking on other VR sites.
Overall, VirtualTaboo’s catalog is more consistent than some of its rivals – on some, you find yourself picking and choosing scenes pretty carefully, but that’s not quite so necessary on VirtualTaboo, though this will of course vary according to your own preferences.
VIRTUALTABOO REVIEW: HEADSET SUPPORT & FEATURES
- Headsets Supported:
- HTC Vive
- Oculus Rift
- Samsung Gear VR
- Cardboard/Generic Headsets
- PlayStation VR
Like the rest of the best VR porn sites, VirtualTaboo supports all of the major headsets and VR devices currently on the market.
For PSVR users it’s worth keeping in mind that there’s no streaming VR option for you – it’s downloads only. There’s also no explicitly stated support for Windows Mixed Reality headset yet, we’ll update here when we’ve found out whether these are currently supported.
What VirtualTaboo does offer, however, is downloads up to 5K in resolution (Oculus/Vive) for anyone in search of the highest possible VR porn – only a few VR sites currently offer this option. There’s also the defacto favoriting function for keeping track of scenes you want to watch more than once and a fairly active comment section under many of the videos. That won’t make much of a difference to some people, but it can be helpful when choosing a scene.
Depending on which device you’re watching on, there are a few different ways of viewing each scene – the site makes its own recommendations pretty clear, but as usual, in our testing we tried a few different VR player apps. VaRs VR Player Pro worked best for us but your mileage may vary. If you’re watching on Vive or Oculus headsets, there’s an option to launch scenes directly in GizmoVR.
Unfortunately there’s no teledildonic support at the moment, but provided devices like the Fleshlight Launch continue to increase in popularity, it’ll likely be added sooner or later if VirtualTaboo wants to remain competitive.
VIRTUALTABOO REVIEW: PRICING
Like a couple of the other sites we’ve reviewed, you don’t have to stump up for a monthly subscription to get access to VirtualTaboo VR porn scenes but buying them individually doesn’t work out the best value if you like the look of more than one scene. As always, the longer you subscribe for, the less you pay overall each month.
- One video for $9.99
- One month for $29.99
- Three months for $59.99
- One year for $99.99
Payment Methods: Credit/Debit Card, PayPal
VIRTUALTABOO REVIEW: OVERALL
In summarizing VirtualTaboo it seems like there’s more negative than positive, but that’s not my lasting impression. Yes, it’d be nice if the recommended way of playing the videos was actually the best way (ie. it didn’t rely on prior knowledge of watching VR to know that better VR player apps are available) but the actual experience of the scenes was excellent – all reliably high-quality, both in terms of video resolution but also the performers and variety in the scenes.
As the catalog continues to grow, VirtualTaboo will need to add some better filtering and navigation options – tags alone aren’t the most convenient way of navigating for everyone but it’s hardly a deal-breaker at this point. Likewise for teledildonic support – it’d be nice, but it’s not mainstream enough to deduct major points yet.
What you’re left with is a solid catalog of taboo-themed scenes that will make a lot of people very happy – plus there’s the option of buying a scene individually to test out the quality before signing up for a subscription. Options like that are always appreciated by users, even if it is a little more expensive than a longer-term subscription.
With a bigger catalog and a few tweaks to the site itself, VirtualTaboo would be placed even higher up the list.
