A vibrating sextech device billed as the “first-ever vibrator in the shape of a clitoris” has been released by the US-based company Cerē.
The Lalalena sells for $97 and is marketed as having areas representing the glans, bulbs and crura: two lengths that extend from the clitoris area on the human vagina. The company claims that this allows it to fit against the entire clitoris, and stimulate much more than the glans alone.
It’s available in black, white and pink models, with Cerē saying that the Lalalena was made partly in reaction to sexual pleasure tools being made in the shape of the male phallus for thousands of years.
Aside from focusing on clits rather than dicks for design inspiration, Cerē’s USP is that the company’s sextech products are developed by physicians. The firm’s development team is led by gynecologist Dr Amir Marashi, who is a “labia consultant”.
The Lalalena’s design is certainly a step away from the usual phallus-derived vibrator norm, but it’s arguably not without peer. In 2022, MysteryVibe released the Legato, which was billed as the world’s first flexible labia vibrator and is relatively close to the Lalalena in its general shape and style.
Still, few would quibble with the benefits of the clitoris generally getting more attention in sextech design, or any other sphere.
