Chicago-based Winkgrin has released a phone-controlled penis masturbation robot that aims to simulate oral sex on-demand.

The Rubjoy features a ‘stroker sleeve’ that fits over a penis and has a stimulating, textured interior. The sleeve is mounted to a robot arm (a little bit like The Handy), with movement controlled by a smartphone app, which is connected to the Rubjoy via Bluetooth.

Using the app on their phone, users can move the sleeve over and around their penis, tilting it, twisting it, shifting it up and down and gyrating it. The product’s promotional video, featuring a dildo rather than a human penis, shows it to be a flexible piece of kit that moves in more directions than the average toy aimed at penis-owners.

The makers of the Rubjoy insist that the product is not a toy. Rather, they say it is an “actual robot” that is capable of “simulating an amazing endless blowjob”. It’s being sold for $399 via the Rubjoy.com website, but there’s no current compatibility with interactive videos or other toys.

“Most toys are built with everything inside some sort of case which restricts motion. To get the movement actions we wanted, we had to try a different approach – the mechanical arms had to be exposed on the outside, and the stand needed to be adjustable – so that’s why our machine looks like nothing you’ve seen before,” a spokesperson says.

“It’s like a robotic wrist that can hold and manipulate a masturbation sleeve, so you don’t have to,” they added.

The Rubjoy
The Rubjoy moves in more directions than most male stroker toys.

The Rubjoy has a maximum height of 30cm and weighs 1.5kg. The maximum length of each of its stroke motions is 15.25cm, and it can deliver 200 strokes per minute on its fastest setting — not close to the potentially scary 500 strokes per minute of the Nimblestroker. Users can create stroke patterns using the app, then share them with other Rubjoy users.

On the product’s website, the makers said that the Rubjoy customer profile is a person who might well already own a sex toy.

“Someone who likes to spend an hour or two, or afternoon of self-loving,” they said. “Someone who wants to experience a truly hands free masturbation session. Ideally it’s for a person who already uses a sex toy, and wants more, someone who wants to take it to the next level.”
