Sexify, boldly riffing on the name of the world’s biggest music streaming platform, is a new audio platform promising “pleasure through sound” in the form of “adult entertainment, education, and sound wellness”.
This involves sex education podcasts, audio porn and erotica, music, and what the platform calls “nature sounds for intimate moments”.
Sexify is free to access (“for now”, its creators say, so expect some kind of subscription fee at some point). To access it you need to register on the site, stating that you’re aged 18 or over, then have your application approved.
There’s no app version of Sexify, but you can create a phone home screen shortcut to the web version, and play audio in it while your phone screen is locked.
Sexify says its content is created by a “diverse group of content creators” and adult film companies from around the world. There are currently five sections to the platform’s library: Porn, Erotic Stories, Podcasts, Music and Soundscapes.
What’s available at launch?
As of December 10, 2024 the Porn section featured ten racy audio pieces, largely comprised of sex noises. There are moans, groans, occasionally laughter and, in one audio recording, the sound of a hedge trimmer being turned on within earshot of the couple’s sex session. There are also ASMR audio pieces in the dedicated ‘Porn’ section, including slurpy mouth noises.
The seven audio pieces in the ‘Erotic Stories’ section are more narrative driven. Most are first-person sex stories, told either by a single narrator or a couple. A highlight is You Can Watch Me by Jake Lance, in which the male protagonist brings himself to climax as a female neighbour shows off her body to him from a nearby balcony.
The Podcasts section so far only features podcasts from the RedCheeks series, created by porn and sex worker performer intimacy coach Izabela Bartyzel. The RedCheeks podcasts cover issues such as directing porn, squirting and ‘porn literacy’, and are available on other audio platforms too, including Spotify.
The ‘Music’ section features the kind of ambient compositions you might find on a Playlist called something like Hard Study Focus Music Cyber-Ambience, and the three pieces in the ‘Soundscapes’ section feature the kinds of nature noises you might find on a white noise app. They’re hardly Prince, but they’d be fine as background music for sex.
Sexify’s library is sure to expand after this soft launch, and is set to join the likes of Emjoy, Ferly and Quinn in the audioporn ‘arena’. It’s been a growth area in recent years, with audioporn companies mainly targeting female users.
Will everyone be sharing their ‘Sexify wrapped’ results by December 2025? Or will Spotify’s lawyers have sent Sexify a cease and desist letter by then? We’re all ears.
