KinkBNB, a property rental service specializing in venues you can book for S&M and kink sessions, often complete with toys and equipment, is re-launching its service, following a re-work of its app to add new features, and a crypto integration.

As its name suggests, the service is billed as a kinkier cousin of AirBnB and will allow you to peruse home dungeons and bedrooms tooled up with items such as bondage equipment then book any that take your fancy. It had its main launch around 2017, was paused during the Covid pandemic, and is now bouncing back as a decentralized app.

Properties listed on KinkBNB fall into categories such as ‘Pro Dungeon’ (“Often a legit business where legal”), ‘Private Residence’ (“Someone’s house or apartment or condo or mansion or tin shack”) and ‘Love Hotel’ (“Big in Japan”).

“We experienced the rising tide of discrimination against the sex-positive movement at the same time as we decided to rebuild our platform because of the pandemic,” says Darren McKeeman, KinkBNB’s co-founder.

KinkBNB transactions are made with KinkToken: the cryptocurrency that has a set value of $1 per single token. Many adult content-related businesses have trouble navigating rules from more traditional financial companies and organizations, such as large credit card firms, so use crypto for payments instead.

By holding $25-worth of KinkToken you have access to KinkBNB’s listings and communications system, which places focus on anonymity. You need to link a wallet in order to log-in and browse listings.

There was one temporary hiccup at relaunch when announced in May 2023: it didn’t have any properties listed on it. KinkBNB says that before the pandemic it had around 600 properties on the service, and was checking the property details of previous hosts to ensure they’re accurate before adding them back to the platform.

“We want to help people explore themselves. We also want to help the sex-positive community grow and travel. It is not always easy to find where to go in a new city. But if you stay with someone already in the community, you have a host and guide,” co-founder Ryan Galiotto told the Huffington Post in 2016.
