Lovense has announced that cam performers can now connect the company’s Chrome extension software, originally designed for adult cam sites, with OnlyFans to offer subscribers a way to control interactive sex toys during live-streaming sessions.
The sextech company, which specializes in remote-controlled devices such as vibrators and penis strokers, claims that via the new linkup the Lovense Cam Extension is currently the only live-streaming software that can support tip-activated toy vibrations during live-streams on OnlyFans.
Lovense already has cam syncing options for performers on sites such as [all very NSFW links] Chaturbate, Stripchat, Bongacams and Camsoda. The new OnlyFans functionality could potentially widen revenue streams for creators already selling content such as pictures and videos on the platform, and could see OnlyFans catching up with ‘pure’ camming sites as a favored live-streaming option.
The Lovense Cam Extension lets performers set up a tip menu, allowing you to control basic tip level options and special commands. When you begin your OnlyFans camming session, your toy will vibrate in response to the tips you receive during the stream.
To link and tip-activate a Lovense sex toy to your OnlyFans cam sessions, you need to download and install the Lovense Cam Extension. If you’re using a Mac, you can then link your Lovense device directly to the extension via your computer. If you’re using a PC you’ll need to download and install the Lovense Connect app on the PC or a connected phone for the link-up. You then set up your tipping menu and levels.
With thousands of camming platforms available, competition to host performers can be fierce. While OnlyFans is still more known as a platform to sell exclusive ‘spicy content’ (as the company’s execs often insist on calling porn) such as recorded videos and photos, the company is clearly keen for a larger slice of the cam pie.
Lovense is also keen to point out to performers that the new tipping function isn’t restricted to while you are actually live on camera – it can also be used to receive tips at any time, even when offline.
The sextech company has been pulling out the stops recently with regard to products and services aimed at adult creators. Earlier in 2024, Lovense released the $399 Mini Sex Machine: a compact, travel-friendly (kind of) version of the heftier rideable $699 double dildo-wielding Sex Machine (pictured above) it launched in 2022.
Lovense has also released an ultra-high definition webcam designed for porn camming and tip activation. The zoom on the webcam can be activated by the live-streamer’s hand gestures, which obviously comes in handy if you want to keep your hands free during a show.
