A new sextech conference aimed largely at industry professionals is set to launch in summer 2025 in Toronto, Canada.
The SexTech TO Conference will take place on June 7 at the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) in the Canadian city. Ticket and scheduling details for the one-day event are yet to be announced, but you can sign up for early bird ticket information via the conference’s website.
Organizers say the conference will be “Toronto’s first ever platform bringing together sextech professionals and enthusiasts”.
The only speaker announced for the event so far is sextech consultant and media creative Andrew Gurza, who is set to give the keynote speech at the conference. Gurza was one of the co-founders of Bump’n: a startup that created a huggable device called the Joystick that sex toys could be attached to, making them easier to use for people who may not be able to use their hands for certain functions.
The Joystick did not make it to full production, with Gurza saying in 2022 that pre-sales sales were “slow going”, and the product was canceled in 2024. Things are looking more positive for the disability activist in 2025, though, with Gurza set to release a book entitled ‘Notes From a Queer Cripple: How to Cultivate Queer Disabled Joy (and Be Hot While Doing It!) ‘ this spring.
SexTech TO has been set up by software developer Alexandra Friedman, who previously worked at the porn site Make Love, Not Porn, and in adult product retail. The organization describes itself as an “educational, professional networking, & community building space”, and started hosting sextech networking events in Toronto in 2023.
Speakers at previous SexTech TO mixer events have included sexology and health educator Tim Lagman, sex shop owner Rosalie Macbeth, sex coach Sabrina Baldini and professional dominatrix Lady Pim.
