Venus Berlin, the ‘biggest erotic event in Europe’, took place last weekend, bringing more than 250 exhibitors from 40 countries to showcase products currently making waves in the sex industry.

Interactivity was a key theme among exhibitors present at this year’s show, with voice command technology looking like the next step for Stockholm-based firm Lelo. This means you may soon be able to ask Amazon’s Alexa to change the settings on a vibrator, according to Lelo’s spokesperson.

The annual Venus Awards also took place on the first night of the trade show, featuring categories such as the ‘Best VR Site’, which was won by RealityLovers.com. VRBangers and Naughty America – both of which also feature in our guide to the best VR porn – were nominated for the same award.

Adult film star Stormy Daniels, who opened the event, won the lifetime achievement accolade at the awards. Indie adult filmmaker Erika Lust won the Best International Series award for her XConfessions series, which now has a supporting app.

We’ve rounded up the most talked-about sextech on display at last weekend’s show. If you were there, why not add a comment below to tell us what you thought of it?

Motorbunny

Motorbunny

The Motorbunny has recently started shipping Europe (it launched in the States in 2016), and now comes with Bluetooth compatibility for remote control from a mobile device.

Motorbunny LINK is a paid-for, app-based product which offers pre-programmed routines and wireless control so your partner can control the Motorbunny’s ‘buzz’ and ‘twirl’ movements from anywhere in the world. A recent update to the app now means you can use Apple’s virtual assistant Siri to direct the movements, too.

Lelo – F1s

From December 2018, Lelo will be shipping out the first its F1s Developer Kit version of its male sex toy. There’s also a Software Developer Kit to accompany it.

Unlike other similarly shaped men’s toys, the F1s has sensors that lets devs use the data to create new features, controls and track performance – and then, of course, there’s the vibrations for sexual enjoyment.

“F1s retains Cruise Control, which controls and maintains the intensity of the sensations so it never drops in power. The same sonic wave sensations (SenSonic™ technology) have been refined for men, recreating the earth-shattering pleasure women have been enjoying for a year now. But there’s something unique about F1s,” the company said in an announcement. “Not only is the F1s the most high-tech, high performance male pleasure product in the world, it’s also the most interactive. F1s can be connected to your smartphone by bluetooth, and a LELO app adds a new immersive experience to male pleasure.”

MyStim – Cluster Buster

Mystim product

German-based company MyStim was at Venus 2018 showcasing its electrosex products including the $240 Cluster Buster. Electrosex targets specific nerve endings through electronic impulses from e-stim toys.

The Cluster Buster ‘e-stim unit’ can send electrical impulses to up to eight different toys at any one time – with 12 stimulation and five training programs to choose from. Pushing the ‘Shock’ button activates maximum intensity.
