A new AI chatbot platform allowing you to have explicit and erotic conversations with real porn creators has launched, following a slew of online creators and influencers launching AI chatbot versions of themselves through message platforms such as Telegram.

The new platform, Clona, has launched with AI versions of two porn creators: Riley Reid and Lena The Plug. AI Riley and Lena can send text and voice messages to you on Clona, with more creators set to be added soon. However, they aren’t going to send you images or videos, like some other virtual companions.

The launch is the latest move in a trend that has seen many online influencers and creators find new revenue streams by making AI versions of themselves and charging fans to interact with them. Snapchat influencer Caryn Marjorie was a trailblazer in this, launching CarynAI and charging $1 a minute to talk to it. Many others have launched since, with creators training AI on voice recordings so they can create original voice note replies.

Clona works similarly to these AI chatbots, charging $30 a month for access to one AI creator. You can receive five messages per month with a free account.

A Clona spokesperson told SEXTECHGUIDE that the platform’s AI chatbots were based on Meta’s Llama open source large language model (LLM), which Clona’s makers have heavily modified and fine-tuned. A test run of the chatbots this week (October 16, 2023) showed that it was difficult to get them to create explicit chat at the moment, but the spokesperson said that this was due to a bug that would be fixed shortly.

They added that “explicit and erotic discussions are allowed and encouraged”.

The AI chatbots are made in collaboration with the real creators they are chatty clones of, with the human versions receiving a share of the profits they generate. Clona plans to add at least one new creator to its roster per month.
