Ohdoki, the Norwegian company behind the popular Handy masturbator sextech devices, has released a TV remote control-style vibrator that uses a linear resonant actuator (LRA) motor and syncs with music.

The new Oh! device caused a kerfuffle at the CES technology conference in Las Vegas when it was unveiled at the start of 2024. Its black, remote control-like design marks it out from other vibrators that sync with music and other sounds, as does its use of an LRA motor.

LRA motors produce an oscillating force across a single axis, and are sometimes used for smartphone vibrations. They are also used in PlayStation controllers to give haptic feedback, and work similarly to how speakers create sound waves.

Ohdoki calls its use of the LRA motor, in conjunction with sonic technology used in the Oh!, ‘ResoTouch’ technology. The Oh! launches on September 18, 2024 and retails for $179 / €169, though it appears to be available to purchase early, at the time of publication.

The Oh! Can be paired to a smartphone using Ohdoki’s [NSFW] Handy Feeling web app. The device can then be synced with an audio platform such as Spotify, to deliver vibrations in time with music.

The app can generate a code to give to a remote partner, who can use it themselves in the app to control the Oh!’s vibrations. You can also create your own vibration and frequency patterns for the device. The Oh! can also be synced with other sextech devices, such as the Handy, to be used as a remote controller for them.

Ohdoki has described the Oh! as the company’s first gender-inclusive product – which is fair enough, as it can deliver vibrations to pretty much any area of the body.

While the design of the Oh! is rather unique, it isn’t the only sextech device on the market using sonic technology to deliver vibrations. Lelo’s recently-released Enigma Double Sonic vibrator features two insertable sections that emit sonic waves. Lelo has also recently released a sound-activated vibrator, the Siri 3.
