An app-controlled wearable prosthetic penis called the VDOM is scheduled to finally go on sale later in 2025, after years of development and stuttering starts.

The VDOM is designed to be attached to your underwear similarly to a strap-on dildo or vibrator. Unlike a traditional strap-on, it’s designed to be worn during day-to-day life as well as for sex.

The device, largely marketed to trans people, can go from flaccid to erect in under one minute, and is controlled via app.

Atlanta-based research and tech company SkiiMoo Tech made the first VDOM prototype in 2020. The device has gone through [NSFW] a few iterations and testing periods since. A newer version was sent to over 300 testers in 2023, but didn’t make it to public launch.

Now the company says that the [NSFW] VDOM 3.0, another revamped version, will be the first VDOM to be sold to the public.

Pre-orders are set to begin on September 9, with the VDOM selling for $675. The company said that pre-ordered devices would be shipped before Christmas.

The VDOM is touted as the “first true wearable prosthetic that restores function, intimacy, and dignity”, by focusing on comfort and wearability as well as potential to provide a raging hard stiffy. Indeed, while strapon dildos have been around since the dawn of sex toys, no company has properly nailed a day-to-day, fully tech-connected penis prosthetic.

The medical grade silicone device will be available in three skin tones and two sizes: one with a length of 15.24 centimeters and width of 4.14 centimeters, and a larger version with a length of 20.32 centimeters and width of 5.08 centimeters.

“The VDOM 3.0 marks the first time our product will be available to the public after years of testing and refinement. We’ve integrated next-gen technology, a fully autonomous mechanism, and a natural, humanistic design that we believe sets a new standard in sexual health innovation,” Glenise Kinard-Moore, SkiiMoo Tech’s founder and CEO, told SEXTECHGUIDE.

VDOM has created underwear products designed for the device to connect to, plus its own custom lube.

In 2022, Kinard-Moore won second place at the 2022 Black Ambition Prize, which musician Pharrell Williams founded to recognize bold companies founded by Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs.
