Why?

A new creator-to-fan sexting service using the messaging app Telegram has launched in an attempt to solve the problem of adult content platforms not being allowed to release apps on Apple’s App Store due to the store’s rules and regulations.

The new platform, Slinky Winky, allows creators to use Telegram to charge fans for sexts plus content such as videos and other messages. With Slinky Winky operating entirely within Telegram, which allows adult content to be shared privately within it, the platform purports to offer a “true mobile experience” that rival non-app platforms such as OnlyFans can’t.

The platform’s creators claim that Slinky Winky will allow you to “offer your fans the best girlfriend experience”.

The Slinky Winky/Telegram pair-up sounds a bit ‘loop-holey’. But if Slinky Winky is not producing its own content, and isn’t producing or facilitating illegal content, then the only authority that seems likely to be able to shut it down would be Telegram itself.

Currently, Telegram does not allow porn to be posted on publicly available channels on the messaging platform, but porn can be sent and received in private messages. Telegram has over 700 million monthly active users and is often feted as being more secure than some rival messaging platforms.

Through Slinky Winky onboarding, adult content creators can set their prices for services such as private sext messages and per-minute charges for private voice or video calls. Fans are also able to give creators custom tips through the system. Slinky Winky takes a 30 percent cut of the income.

The platform has been designed so that fans cannot message creators outside of the Slinky Winky ecosystem to help ensure safety and anonymity for creators’ profiles.

Slinky Winky is the product of app stores taking a tough stance on adult content, rather than it necessarily being the most streamlined and efficient mobile creator-to-fan platform. Although sites like OnlyFans don’t have app versions, you can still easily access the mobile-optimized version of the main sites on a phone.
