Lovense is a brand that is going from strength to strength in the context of a pandemic when long-distance and virtual sex has become more commonplace than ever.
Its latest product launch, the Lush 3, is the third generation of its popular egg vibrator. Favoured by cam performers, the Lush models are small and powerful insertable vibrators that can be controlled via Bluetooth and WiFi via the Lovense Remote app.
The Lush 3 has improved on the second generation with an ergonomic redesign and improved battery life, but is it worth the $119 retail price?

Lovense Lush 3: Design and Functionality
The Lush 3 is the third version of Lovense’s egg vibrator toy, which have all featured the brand’s long-distance control options, making it a popular choice among cam performers.
Compared to the Lush 2, the Lush 3 has a longer battery life (a major plus point for the aforementioned cam performers), a redesigned tail for a more ergonomic fit, and a magnetic charging port, which means your supplied charger can work with other Lovense models – such as the recently-launched Ferri panty vibrator.
The Bluetooth antenna has also been redesigned for a “more stable connection”, and connectivity via the Lovense Remote app means it can even be voice-controlled through the Amazon Alexa, if that’s your kinda thing.
While the motor is the same as the previous model, the manufacturer claims the redesigned tail means the Lush 3’s vibrations feel more powerful. The new tail design came in response to user feedback, meaning that previous Lush owners may find a little more satisfaction in this new and improved model. But more on the user experience in a bit.
The Lovense Lush 3 arrives in discreet packaging. Within the product box, you’ll find the Lush 3, a USB charging cable, storage bag, quick setup guide and user manual.
Choices, choices…
There’s only one color choice, hot pink (pictured), which I personally love but might not be to everyone’s taste. The material is a super-smooth body-safe silicone with a standard IPX7 waterproof rating (in other words, you can submerge in 1-meter of water for 30 minutes. So, yes, it’s fine for your bath or shower).
The Lush 3 is nice and light, weighing just under 70 grams. The insertable length is just under 4-inches long, and the widest part of the insertable end measures around 1.5-inches.
As previously mentioned, the Lush 3 now features a magnetic USB charging port, the cable of which can be plugged into any USB/AC power adapter. The charger will only work properly if positioned correctly; charging it ‘upside down’ won’t work, which I found out the hard way. If a solid red light doesn’t show once you hook it up to the charger, rotate the cable 180 degrees until it does.
Once fully charged, after approximately 85 minutes, the solid red light will turn off. Lovense claims the Lush 3 has a usage time of up to 290 minutes, but at the time of writing, I hadn’t used it enough cumulatively to testify to that.
Before we get into the toy in action, it’s worth mentioning that you’re going to want to have some lube at hand before you begin to play with it – especially if you are inserting it vaginally. If so, remember to use a water-based lube, as silicone or oil-based lube may damage the soft silicone material.
Lovense Lush 3: Experience
As an egg vibrator, the Lush 3 has been designed for vaginal insertion. While using it in this way was a pleasant, sensual experience, I was definitely a little bit underwhelmed. Like other comments I’ve read online from cam performers, I thought that the tail had been redesigned to sit on or near your clitoris, with subsequent vibrations providing stimulation both inside the vagina and via the tail to the clitoris. However, the tail is just there for design, to make the egg sit comfortably inside the vagina walls and reach your G-spot. While this is not a design fault as it’s not something that was intended, the Lush 4 would be a fantastic toy if the tail could provide a little clitoris stimulation.
The Lush 3 did sit comfortably for me once inserted (thanks to the smooth silicone and ergonomic design of the egg), but wasn’t long enough to stimulate my G-spot. Still, it was pleasurable and very very quiet when inserted, if a whisper-quiet experience is something that you require from a vibe, the Lush 3 won’t disappoint there. Combined with its remote control functionality, this also means the Lush 3 is a great choice for public play, as it’s virtually silent when placed inside the vaginal walls (a naturally sound-proofed environment, it seems). This might make the Lush 3 a better option for outdoor use than its ‘sister’ product the Ferri, which is just a little too loud for that use. However, if you need clitoral stimulation to feel satisfied by your toys, the Ferri would be the better option.
While using the Lush 3 inserted, as intended, wasn’t life-changing for me, things improved when I began to use it in different ways. An egg vibrator is a really versatile option, which makes one a good all-rounder for your collection.
It was this versatility that really shines about the Lush 3. Not all eggs have a ‘handle’, but as it turns out, this is a strong (if unintended) design point. The previously-referred-to redesigned tail, meant to hold the toy comfortably in place in the vagina, works wonders as a handle.
The Lush 3 is light enough to hold by the narrow end of the toy, so you can place the wider part lightly above sensitive areas, such as the clitoris or nipples. The effect is really pleasing: the powerful vibrations from the motor and the extra ‘bounce’ from suspending the toy by the narrow end, using it as a handle, has an almost double vibration effect.
Also, unlike other vibrators, the fact that the tail doesn’t vibrate means it’s not too ‘buzzy’ when you’re holding it as a handle. So while it may be nice to see the tail part vibrate for extra clitoral stimulation in future models, the lack of motor in the tail works well for this purpose.
When inserted, the toy did have a tendency to rotate, which wasn’t a huge problem but was a little uncomfortable at first. If this happens, make sure you take extra care when removing it.
Lovense Lush 3: Remote control app functionality
As well as making durable and affordable sextech, the reason many buyers choose Lovense’s range of sex toys is the tech aspect. All the Lovense toys are compatible with the Lovense Remote app (available for Android and iOS devices), and are therefore a great choice if you’re looking for a toy you can use long-distance.
As well as providing remote control, the Lovense Remote app features several innovative functions within the app, such as the ability to sync with music and respond to external sounds. While some functions work better than others, it is a plus to have the option to programme your own vibration patterns within the app. It’s also quite fun, too.
Saying that, the Lush 3 doesn’t require you to use the Lovense Remote app to control the vibes, and I had just as much fun using it in the ‘traditional’ way, by going through the patterns using the button on the toy.
But the remote functionality is perfect for the market that the Lush 3 is really targeted at – cam performers.
For camming purposes, the Lush 3 supports 24 major cam sites and is customizable to ensure the device can react to tips in the way performers choose. The egg vibrator also supports split-camming, shared control of the toy and personalised games via Lovense Extension.
Lovense Lush 3: Overall
The Lush 3 is a versatile egg vibrator, that is comfortable when inserted but perhaps won’t have you screaming for more. However, when used with a bit of imagination, the powerful vibrations, smooth silicone and curved design of the toy could be used elsewhere on the body to great effect.
With an eye-catching colour and fantastic app connectivity, it’s a great option for cam performers and virtual sex opportunities (Lovense now supports virtual sex parties with up to 100 participants, if you didn’t already know). For those who don’t yet have a Lush toy, this is certainly the one to go for, as some of the flaws of the previous models have been ironed out. For those who already own a former model, the price point might just be that little bit too high to justify an upgrade.
