Aylo, the Canadian firm formerly known as MindGeek and owner of Pornhub, has partnered with a platform dedicated to combating revenge porn. This collaboration aims to address the growing concern of non-consensual intimate images and videos on adult websites.

Partnering with Stop Non-Consensual Intimate Image Abuse (StopNCII.org) could result in the removal of non-consensual content from Aylo’s platforms, including those flagged as potential revenge porn. This initiative is part of Aylo’s broader effort to enhance user safety and ethical standards on its websites.

StopNCII.org stated that ignoring legal adult sites would be a denial of online porn’s reality, and that this partnership would enhance safety across Aylo’s platforms. The organization emphasized the importance of collaboration between legal adult sites and platforms like StopNCII.org to make the digital world a safer place for everyone.

Aylo is pushing its ethical rebrand hard, especially after allegations of hosting illegal and unethical content on its platforms. The company aims to set a new standard in the adult industry by collaborating with organizations that share its commitment to ethical practices and user safety.

StopNCII.org’s system will flag content on Aylo-owned sites like Pornhub, YouPorn, and RedTube. Once flagged, these items can be reviewed and potentially removed, contributing to a safer user experience.

A ‘digital fingerprint’ or hash can be generated on your device, assigning a unique identifier to content like homemade porn images or videos. These digital fingerprints can then be submitted to the NCII website, which uses them to flag similar content across various platforms.

Before partnering with Aylo, StopNCII.org collaborated with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to combat revenge porn. Their experience in this area adds another layer of credibility to Aylo’s initiative.

In August 2023, Aylo announced its rebrand from MindGeek, aiming for a “fresh start” amid scrutiny over hosting questionable content, including on Pornhub. The rebrand is part of Aylo’s ongoing efforts to improve its image and operational standards.

In 2023, Pornhub also restricted access in certain U.S. states like Virginia and Mississippi due to stricter age verification laws. This move aligns with Aylo’s broader strategy to comply with legal requirements and enhance user safety.

Sophie Mortimer of Revenge Porn Helpline, the organization behind StopNCII.org, stated: “Ignoring the role of legal adult sites is a denial of digital reality. They need safety measures as much as any other platform. Partnering with StopNCII.org is a step in the right direction for making these digital spaces safer for all users.”
