Lovense has launched a new function for its smart sex toys designed to make train and plane rides — or perhaps just a brisk stroll to the shops — a whole lot more enjoyable.

The company’s new Speed Mode function, available on the Lovense Remote App, links vibration intensity of a sex toy to the movement speed of the user. Lovense says that the function will respond to any movement, including vehicle travel and walking.

When Speed Mode is activated and a sex toy is paired with the app, as the user speeds up, the sex toy’s vibration intensity increases. It decreases as movement slows down, and maintains a steady intensity when travelling at a consistent speed.

Lovense says that the aim is to help users “brighten up their daily routine” by being used in “everyday life”.

While announcing Speed Mode, the company sent out a warning about users’ cars potentially veering off course as their drivers became distracted by intensely vibrating sex toys if on their person. We’re pretty sure it’d be illegal too, under the ‘driving while distracted’ laws, or the equivalent in your country.

Lovense said it did “not recommend activating Speed Mode when operating a vehicle and reminds of the need to act in strict accordance with the legislation of the country of location.”

The launch comes during a busy time for Lovense. It was recently revealed that the firm is working on a penis sleeve device called the Lovense Gush, designed to be a rival to the Hot Octopuss Pulse. However, Hot Octopuss has since partnered with Kiiroo to breathe new life into the product, making things more competitive yet again.

In summer 2021 Lovense released the Quake: a smooth dual-motor sex toy with two stimulation points and a waterproof, flexible body.
