The platform’s relationship with adult content has been rocky though. After initially being hesitant about NSFW games, Valve opened the floodgates in 2018, but has since walked back some of that openness. Despite these restrictions, it remains the largest distribution channel for adult games on PC, with developers often releasing both ‘safe’ Steam versions and uncensored patches hosted elsewhere.
