SexLikeReal (SLR), the popular VR porn site, has “trashed” the penis stroker device the company had developed to prototype stage, and has “greatly postponed” the release plan for its SLR haptic sex toy.
The Slovenia-based firm had initially planned to release its own toy in October 2023, and had been working in conjunction with the the penis stroker robotics company Tempest MAx. SLR released teaser videos and images of a prototype of a product it called the H1 back in July 2023, but things appear to have gone a bit wrong since then, resulting in the project going back to the drawing board.
On November 28, 2023 an SLR spokesperson confirmed that “the timeline will be greatly postponed to make things work. Current pre-production prototype is going to trash along with the team behind it. Release timeline: mid 2025.”
SEXTECHGUIDE has contacted SexLikeReal for an update on the device’s specifications and release plan, and will update this article with any response.
Buzz around the proposed penis stroker had been building for a couple of years on [NSFW] SLR’s forum, but users now face a wait of at least a year and a half before an SLR device becomes available. Earlier this month the SLR spokesman says that the company is looking for hardware professionals for the project.
Details about the new version of the device are scant, aside from SLR claiming that it will be an “iconic device that would be cool to hold in your hands”. The company says the device will work out of the box with VR headsets and phones.
The scrapped H1 prototype was designed to deliver strokes up to 12cm in length and with capability for a twist motion. SLR said the robotic base section of the H1 would be compatible with penis sleeves made by other companies such as Fleshlight and Kiiroo. An H2 model, which would have been smaller than the H1 and not compatible with other brands’ penis sleeves, was also being developed.
Early design renders of the H1 showed that it would have been able to be clamped to a table or other surface, for ‘hands free’ action. The company claimed that it would be quiet, with a noise level under 50 decibels.
The device would have been wifi connected, to allow it to sync with VR headsets and controls. A ‘fluffer mode’ was also being developed, designed to allow you to use the H1 before you have a full erection.
When/if SLR’s penis stroker does eventually come out, it will certainly be designed to sync to VR porn videos on the site. The company recently began using AI to develop ‘scripts’ for sex toys that should dramtatically increase the number of interactive scenes on the site.
We’d expect that whatever SexLikeReal comes up with will – at the least – try and fulfill the feature list above. After all, if it wasn’t going to, the H1 and H2 would have probably made it to market.
