Why?

Womanizer has released its first lay-on clitoral vibrator, which the sextech company is touting as the world’s first noiseless vibrator, and while initial reports suggest this could be a slight overstatement, early reviews have been impressed by the low volume.

Named simply Vibe, the new product costs $129 and uses low-frequency, ‘rumbly’ vibrations that Womanizer calls UltraWave Vibration. As a ‘lay-on’ vibrator, rather than penetrating anything, it is designed to externally stimulate the clitoris with subtle vibrations – hence the noiseless claim.

The Vibe features a motor that produces a linear rather than rotational force, allowing for quieter operation, and for vibrations to be distributed evenly over the device’s surface. The Vibe has ten vibration speeds plus three ‘autopilot’ vibration patterns.

Despite Womanizer’s claim that the Vibe is “silent”, reviews have suggested that this isn’t quite the case, and that it does in fact make a very quiet sound. Still, with reports suggesting that the Vibe is at least close to silent, with this reflected in the low power of its vibrations, it could prove popular with those seeking subtle sextech solutions, people living in shared apartments, or just anyone that wants a less intense vibration experience.

The Vibe comes in three color options: sage, dusky pink and dark blue. It has a run time of up to 90 minutes between charges, and takes 90 minutes to charge. It weighs 143 grams and is primarily made from body-safe silicone. The device is 142 millimeters long at is longest length, has a width of 47 millimeters and a height of 52 millimeters.

Womanizer’s new device joins something of a trend for new clit-focused devices in the sextech industry, with products such as the Lelo Siri 3 plus clit-sucking devices like the Lovense Tenera 2 recently making waves.

Earlier in 2024 Womanizer released its own clit-sucking device, the Next, featuring the brand’s Pleasure Air technology.
